This spoon has an exaggerated curved handle and a handle-end in the form of a swallowtail. It likely dates to the mid-Koryo period (918-1392). During this time, handle-ends were elegantly cut and decorated with incised patterns, as seen here. Metal spoons and chopsticks are still used in Korea today for eating.
