Place of origin |
Bottle of fritware, painted in shades of blue with black outline under a clear glaze. Two fragmented winged dragons cavort across the two flattended sides against a ground of scrolling leaves with three lappet flowers. The beasts are fierce-looking with hairy manes and split curled tails. Round the shoulder is a band of linked ruyi heads. At the bottom a band of lotus panels overlooks the splayed round foot with its knotted scroll and flowers. Imitation Chinese "tassel" mark in blue. The mouth is mounted with engraved brass of later date.
