| Object history | These drawings (E.215-217-1994) were commissioned by the Ford Motor Company to explain the workings of their products when reproduced in press packs, brochures and other printed material supplied to dealers and the public. Collins, a free-lance illustrator, works for several motor manufacturers, but especially Fords, for whom he has illustrated every new model since 1962. Collins works from orthographic and detailed engineering drawings and photographs of castings, before checking his drawings against the actual car or engine at Ford's factory. |
