Object history | Irene Finch note, 2009: Finch 95/15 FE.35-2006 Small round b&w dish, brown edged. Central design of mixed shapes, fjiger border of thunder symbols. The main border of very fine stencilled rain shows the use of very fine stencilling. Fluted corners allow placing of a flat stencil on to a curved surface. Published Arts of Asia vol 31/2, no 18. Relevance Shows the possibility of very tiny stencilled markers for Nabeshima Low octagonal bowl. Blue border, Chinese centre and back |
