Drainer of tin-glazed earthenware. A band of geometric ornament runs round the rim enclosing concentric rings of schematic foliate decoration. The handles have curving stripes. The initials and date V/HM/1673 are painted within the foot-rim. All the decoration is in blue.
Body colour: Buff.
Glaze: Shiny white glaze. Foot wiped partly clean of glaze.
Shape: A flatter version of Shape A. A deep groove runs round the outside just below the upper rim. The pierced holes follow the lines of five concentric rings scored into the upper surface while the clay was leather hard. (Alphabetic shape codes as used in appendix to Archer. Delftware. 1997)
