Basin of tin-glazed earthenware, painted. The interior has two birds standing beside a rock between flowering shrubs within a deep border of oriental scrolls, ribbons, butterflies, diaper and geometric decoration. The exterior has four flower sprays. All the decoration is in blue. Body colour: Reddish Buff. Glaze: Greenish white with noticeably turquoise areas, inclined to pool and much crazed. Two prominent peg-marks under the rim. Foot-rim wiped entirely clean of glaze.
Shape: Prominent flange at rim turning over slightly. (Alphabetic shape codes as used in appendix to Archer. Delftware. 1997)
