Place of origin

Ireland was well supplied with delftware from Liverpool. But in the 1750s Henry Delamain hoped to make a success of his new pottery at Dublin. Despite his revolutionary technique of firing with coal instead of wood, the pottery survived only seven years. It left behind rare, delicately painted tablewares.
