A standing figure of William III wearing armour and an ermine lined robe with crown, orb and sceptre with a pavement in the foreground and an arch above supported on columns inscribed W R. Painted in blue and outlined in manganese-purple with turquoise green on the arch and at the sides. Two manganese-purple lines at the rim. Three stilt marks on the front (8 cms point to point).
Body colour: Buff.
Glaze: Shiny white on the front. A greenish streaky lead-glaze over a pale slip covers the entire back. The foot-rim has been largely wiped clean of glaze. Many areas and spots of blue and manganese-purple. White tin-glaze in small areas at the rim.
Shape: Shape A with shorter well and narrower flange. (Alphabetic shape codes as used in appendix to Archer. Delftware. 1997)
