Bowl of whitish fritware, painted in dark olive-green outline and blue on a white slip and covered with a clear glaze. The sides are decorated with a pierced design which is filled in with the glaze. The interior is painted on the bottom with seven fishes surrounding an embossed rosette within a band of narrow curved leaves. The pierced decoration takes the form of a band of cresting, and above it, both outside and inside, is a narrow border of geometrical ornament broken by compartments enclosing conventional flowers. Below the cresting externally is a row of festoons and floral sprays.
