One man and three women hay-making with rakes and a fork. A seated man drinks from a bottle in a landscape with sponged trees, a house and a wind-mill. The handle is painted on the upper part with foliate ornament following the moulded design beneath. The middle part has flower sprays and the lower part has a modelled fleur-de-lys which is partly broken. All the decoration is in blue.
Body colour: Buff.
Condition: Part of foot restored.
Glaze: White and slightly crazed.
Shape: Low relief moulded design on upper part of handle, which is slightly rounded on the inside and concave on the outside. The top of the handle has a housing, now broken, for a lid pivot. The base has only a low foot-rim. (Alphabetic shape codes as used in appendix to Archer. Delftware. 1997)
