Object history | Charles Bicknell (1751-1828) held many official posts including that of Solicitor to the Admiralty and Navy. His daughter Maria married John Constable. The house was on the Roehampton side of Putney Heath, there is a watercolour by Constable of similar houses on Putney Heath also in the V&A's collection (172-1888). |
