The Rt. Hon. Augustine Birrell K.C. (1850-1933) was an author and statesman, notably President of the Board of Education 1905-7 and Chief Secretary for Ireland 1907-16. Mrs Stanley Baldwin, later Countess Baldwin of Bewdley (d. 1945) was the wife of the Prime Minister.
