Square tile, fritware, with projecting upper border with moulded decoration of paired back-to-back split palmettes. The lower section has a moulded inscription (probably from the Qur'an), painted in cobalt blue; the background is painted in golden-brown lustre, with a decoration of large scrolls infilled with palmette leaves, left in reserve. There are splashes of cobalt blue pigment over the whole surface. From a set dated (7)38 H/1337 A.D.
