Physical description

A black and white print referencing Piranesi's pyramid of Caius Cestius, however, in this case the pyramid is situated in 20th century Birmingham. The image illustrates a view looking through the arch of a viaduct and depicts an imagined pyramid under construction. In the background, behind the pyramid, real features of the Birmingham skyline are shown including the British Telecom Tower and the Rotunda.
