A stereograph is a pair of photographic images of the same subject taken from slightly different angles. When viewed through a stereoscope they give the illusion of a three-dimensional image. Stereographs were mass produced from the 1850s and viewing them was a popular amusement until the early 20th century. This group of stereographs capture the sculptural and architectural treasures of Rome.(03/02/2015)
