Portion of a tilework border of yellowish sandstone, carved with a countersunk design and covered with turquoise-blue and white enamel colours. An Arabic inscription from the Koran in Naskhy characters forms the chief part of the decoration and begins with the invocation 'In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful', and the remainder is fragmentary. The characters are in white on a blue ground of interlacing volutes formed of foliated stems.
