This pair of stirrups are made of iron. They are inlaid with a design of a lion in brass and of peonies in silver. They are also decorated with a diaper pattern of straight lines crossing one another. The inside of each is covered in red lacquer and they have been signed on the shanks "made by Ieshige".

They date from between 1700 and 1800.
