Dress

1974 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This is a detail of a 1974 Jean Muir jersey dress in cobalt blue. It shows the precision and detail that Muir is renowned for. Decorative machine topstitching on the long cuffs follows the outline of the curved corners to fill the cuff entirely. This immaculate topstitching gives body to the soft, light material and crisp edges to the closely fitting cuffs and similarly treated collar on an otherwise loose and fluid garment.
