Object history
This is very similar to the fireplace in the centre of a group of three from the King's Weston book reproduced as Fig 219 in English Homes, Period IV, Vol II, and similar to fireplaces at Blenheim and Grimsthorpe reproduced as Figures 143 and 472 in the same volume.
