Roger Morris (1695-1749) Design for a domed temple British, about 1730-1740 Pen and ink, and wash Morris made his fortune as a speculative builder, but it is for his architecture that he is best remembered. After acting as an assistant to Colen Campbell and collaborating with the future Earl of Pembroke, two of the leading promoters of the Palladian style, he had a distinguished career, designing houses both in London and in the country. No doubt intended to enhance some large garden, it is not known if this small temple was ever built. E.3190-1991
