Pepper pot of earthenware covered with a mottled manganese-brown lead glaze, and moulded in the form of a head of a smiling black man with curly hair mottled brown, eyes touched in with dark brown clay, and round shoulders, impressed with rows of circles and dots, forming a base in which is an aperture, and the top of the head is pierced with small holes.
