In the design as executed the towers project much further forward from the rest of the building, and do not diminish in the attic storey, as in this design. See L. Whistler (1954).

Purchased from the Marquis of Bute at auction at Sotheby's (lot 19.12) on 23 May 1951 by the National Arts Collection Fund and given to the V & A.
