Physical description

Plate of salt-glazed stoneware, octagonal in shape with the rim moulded with trellis-pattern and with scrolls at the angles, and enamelled turquoise-blue, and in the middle is transfer-printed over the glaze in red with the fable of the Fox and the Ox.

Descriptive line

Plate of salt-glazed stoneware, octagonal in shape with the rim moulded and with scrolls and transfer-printing, probably made by either by Edward Warburton at Fenton Low or by Thomas Whieldon at Fenton Vivian, ca. 1751-1754, and transfer-printed possibly at Battersea ca. 1754.
