Marks and inscriptions | Becket as a young man was fond of hawking & hunting. His hawk plunged into a river after a duck & Becket dived in to save it – he was caught in a mill-race and almost drowned. This was thought to be a miracle & Becket devoted himself to the Church from there on. (Inscribed with the title) |
