Gallery label | Poole tells the story of how she happened upon this fallen tree in the middle of a wood and felt compelled to capture its sinuous shape. This print shows her ability to use fine, straight lines to create three-dimensional form. She grappled most with the sky, using complimentary shapes to provide an abstract backdrop. This precision of line infuses these found objects with a detached grandeur.(August 2019) |
