Object history
Dastor was commissioned by the National Gallery to design a protective tube for posters sold in their shop. In the year following their launch, the new tubes proved so popular that the
National Gallery shop sold over 20,000 of them as stand alone products , considerably more than the number sold as protective tubes for posters.
In 1990 the Poster Tube was nominated for a Silver award in the Design & Art Direction (D&AD) Annual awards.
In 1993 the Poster Tube was included in Booth-Clibborn, E. (1993). British packaging now, London: Internos Books.
