Object history note

Michael Ward was a freelance and a Sunday Times staff photographer. He won the B.P. Arts Journalism Award in 1989 and in 1990 was nominated for the same award with this photograph. The photograph depicts actor Catherine Wilkin, in character as Hedda Gabler, at the Edinburgh Festival in 1990 and was used in the Sunday Times in September of the same year.
