This election poster by Péter Pócs is an exception. He usually worked for the Liberals but in this case he fulfilled a commission from one of his friends in the Hungarian Democratic Forum. These were the first free elections in Hungary following the collapse of communism. The image on the poster is a visualisation of the unity of the nation and the collaboration of all social forces regardless of age, gender and occupation.
The poster was designed before an official graphic identity was created for the party. Pócs’s rendering of ‘MDF’ (the abbreviation of the party name) is a more dynamic and ‘modern’ solution than the logo designed by Béla Aba in 1990 using the ‘Antiqua’ font.
