1 Vote for Wellbeing. Romanian Agrarian Democratic Party

Poster
1990 (designed and printed)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The Democratic Agrarian Party of Romania (PDAR) was established in 1990 following the overthrow of the communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. The party was dissolved in 1998, when it merged with the Party of New Romania. The resulting political alliance became The Romanian National Party. The PDAR appealed mainly to agricultural workers. The headline '1 Vote for Wellbeing' is elaborated by imagery representing a surplus of food rendered in a realist style. The poster promises voters something that had been missing during 50 years of communist rule in Romania - an abundance of basic necessities. It promises the wellbeing of every citizen.
