Object history note

This illustration came from the same source as a group of stencil plates also in the collection (E.2874-1990 - E.2959-1990). This was a decorators' suppliers in Brussels, operative from ca. 1900 and closing ca. 1930. It was acquired after discovery by the vendor when the building which had housed the shop was demolished in 1990.
