Physical description

Thin card inner-sleeve for the 12" long-playing record 'Dazzle Ships' recorded by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark for Virgin Records.
The front is yellow with a pink isosceles triangle intersecting from the bottom edge to the centre.The design is repeated on the back with the colours reversed.

The seperation of the inner and outer (die-cut) sleeves create an illusion of extra movement.

Object history note

The design is partly inspired by the paintings and prints of Edward Wadsworth (1889-1949) which feature the geometric camouflage patterns applied to shipping during the First World War.

The title of the album was suggested by Peter Saville after a painting by Edward Wadsworth.
