Object history
Historical significance: The papercut decoration is in the form a meander pattern, which can also be seen on metal objects from the Choson period (1392-1910AD). On two "Yo-ui" (S-shaped ornament) dating to the 17th C.AD., now in the collection of the National Museum of Korea, this type of meander pattern has been inlaid with silver wire.
