Child's desk and seat of stained and varnished wood. The unit consists of a desk and chair, each with legs slotted into a wooden stand with cross pieces and reinforced with curved wooden brackets. The desk legs are also bolted together with a hoop of metal at each side.
The desk has a hinged lid, an interior compartment for books and equipment, a hole for an inkwell, a groove across the back of the top to hold pens and pencils, and a recess to hold a drawing board.
The chair has a plain top rail, and wooden brackets to strengthen the back stays. A piece of wood (probably an addition) runs diagonally from the back of the seat to the stand.
