This poster advertised a production of Prokofieff's Cinderella by Matthew Bourne in 1997. The shoe dominated both the poster image and the story. It encapsualted the loss, longing and mistaken identity and escapism in the fairy tale, which Bourne had symbolically transported to war-torn London during the blitz.
