This piece of furniture was purchased in Chiswick in the 1940s, but was originally made in Latvia ca.1939. The table has a folding seat mounted onto it, allowing the frame to fold flat when not in use. After the chair was purchased in the 1940s it was passed down to the owners daughter who then used it when bringing up her children in the 1960s and 1970s.

Brief description | Child's squared table of varnished wood, with a seat within; 'Venesta' brand, made in Latvia, ca. 1939 |
Physical description | Child's squared table of varnished plywood. The unit consists of the table, mounted on four straight folding legs with casters, and a folding seat cut and mounted within the table. The seat has a back and a foot-rest; a metal clip slots into the table frame to hold it flat when folded for storage. There are D-rings with tapes at the back of the seat, possibly to attach to a cushion when in use. |

It was subsequently used by the donor's children Catherine (b 1964); Belinda (b 1966); Eleanor (b 1969) and William (b 1975) Phillips. |
