General Description: The Ex-Minister and the Meteor (BM:S.10235). Caricature of William Pitt and Richard Brinsley Sheridan. British. Lettered with title and inscribed with caption and Sir, Amongst the many attacks which I have had this night to sustain, has been one from a flash of lightning - a Meteor, which wanders about, moveing [sic] sometimes on one side, and sometimes on the other - a Meteor which to the regret of us all, has not been lately seen amongst us, but which upon its return has turned its blazing resentment upon me - but in whose fiery face I can look without terror or dismay. Vide Mr Pitt's reply to Mr Sheridan on the State of the Navy Pubd, April 13th, 1804 by S W Fores 50 Picadilly Folios of Caracatures lent out for the Evening. With the mark of the collection of Frank A. Gibson (d.1976) on the back.
