Girls - can we interest you in a package holiday

Poster
1995 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This poster gained rapid notoriety after its public distribution in 1995. It represents a genre which at the time had gained both popularity and distaste, indicating a slightly moral stance toward popular culture, particularly film, TV and advertising. This one came hard on the heels of the 'Wonderbra' advertisements, 'Hello Boys' and 'Or Are You Just Pleased to See Me' [see E.872-1997 and E.873-1997] which achieved 'a spectacular lift in sales' according to Emily Bell, writing on the controversy surrounding the so-called sexy-ad in 'The Guardian' (13 February 1995).
