Part of a collection of Japanese woodblock prints, printmaking tools and materials presented by Miyata Rokuzaemon (through Mr. H. Yamawaki, Commissioner General of the Imperial Japanese Commission to the Panama Pacific International Exposition, Tokyo) in exchange for a similar collection illustrating the process of wood engraving in Britain.
