This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the sixtieth year of Queen Victoria's reign. The obverse depicts the Queen while the reverse bears the inscription 'MAY THE BLESSINGS OF PEACE CONTINUE TO CROWN YOUR GLORIOUS REIGN'. A winged female figure is depicted standing on the globe, holding two wreaths encircling the dates 1837 1897. Springing from either side of the globe, there are roses, thistles, and shamrocks.
