This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the sixtieth year of Queen Victoria's reign. The obverse depicts the Queen while the reverse bears the inscription 'THE ROYAL FAMILY 1837-1897'. The royal arms, surrounded by shields bearing the names of members of the Royal family and stars of the Order of the Garter, are also depicted.

Medal, bronze, struck from a die. Obv.: VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REGINA F: D: IND: IMP: IN. COMMEMOR. AN. REG. SEXAGESIMI MDCCCXCVII. Crowned and laureated bust of Queen Victoria to left. Signed on the truncation F B. Rev., THE ROYAL FAMILY 1837-1897. The royal arms, surrounded by shields bearing the names of members of the Royal family and stars of the Order of the Garter. Signed SPINK & SON LONDON.
