This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the sixtieth year of Queen Victoria's reign. The obverse depicts the Queen while the reverse bears the inscription 'MAY. GOD. PRESERVE OUR QUEEN AND THE HEIRS TO THE THRONE JUBILATE BRITANNI'. There are four medallions containing busts of Queen Victoria and her heirs, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of York and Prince Edward together with palm branches and ribbons.

Physical description

Medal, bronze, struck from a die. Obv: VICTORIA QUEEN. AND. EMPRESS TO COMMEMORATE THE 60TH YEAR OF HER MAJESTY'S REIGN. Crowned and laureated bust of Queen Victoria to left. Signed F. BOWCHER. F. Rev., MAY. GOD. PRESERVE OUR QUEEN AND THE HEIRS TO THE THRONE JUBILATE BRITANNI. Medallions containing busts of H.I.M. QUEE[N] VICTORIA H.R.H PRI[NCE] OF WALES H.R.H DUKE OF YORK AND H.R.H PRI[NCE] EDWARD, with palm branches and ribbons. Signed SPINK LONDON.
