This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the sixtieth year of Queen Victoria's reign. The obverse depicts the Queen while the reverse bears the inscription 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN'. The crowned mongram VRI is also depicted within a wreath together with ships at sea and a lighthouse. Above this there are five shields bearing the names of continents, with the motto LOVE PEACE AND UNION.
