This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the sixtieth year of Queen Victoria’s reign. The obverse depicts the Queen while the reverse bears the inscription 'THE FOUR LONGEST REIGNS IN ENGLISH HISTORY PRIOR TO HER MAJESTY. WHOM GOD MAY LONG PRESERVE.' There are four medallions containing the busts of Henry III., Edward III., Elizabeth I and George III., surmounted by shields of arms and ribbons with dates, and separated by palm-branches. In the centre there is a tablet bearing the dates 1837- 1897.

THE FOUR LONGEST REIGNS IN ENGLISH HISTORY PRIOR TO HER MAJESTY. WHOM GOD MAY LONG PRESERVE.
