This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the sixtieth year of Queen Victoria's reign. The obverse depicts the Queen while the reverse bears the inscription 'THE PRIME MINISTERS OF HER MEJESTY'S REIGN MARQUIS OF SALISBURY 1837- 1897'. A tablet with a palm-branch, surrounded by nine shields bearing names, separated by emblems is also depicted, while between the dates there is a portcullis.

Signed on the truncation F B. Rev: THE PRIME MINISTERS OF HER MEJESTY'S REIGN MARQUIS OF SALISBURY 1837- 1897. A tablet with a palm-branch, surrounded by nine shields bearing names, separated by emblems; between the dates, a portcullis. Signed SPINK & SON LONDON.
