This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the sixtieth year of Queen Victoria's reign. The obverse of the medal shows a portrait of Queen Victoria while the reverse bears the inscription GOD PRESERVE OUR QUEEN AND KAISAR-I-HIND, MDCCCXXXVII MDCCCXCVII INDIA. The star of India, surrounded by lotus flowers and monograms VRI is also depicted below the Royal Arms.

Rev.: GOD PRESERVE OUR QUEEN AND KAISAR-I-HIND, MDCCCXXXVII MDCCCXCVII INDIA. The star of India, surrounded by lotus flowers and monograms VRI; below the Royal Arms. Signed SPINK & SON LONDON.
