This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the sixtieth year of Queen Victoria's reign. The obverse of the medal shows a portrait of Queen Victoria while the reverse bears the inscription GOD PRESERVE OUR QUEEN AND KAISAR-I-HIND, MDCCCXXXVII MDCCCXCVII INDIA. The star of India, surrounded by lotus flowers and monograms VRI is also depicted below the Royal Arms.

Medal, bronze, struck from a die. Obv: VICTORIA QUEEN. AND. EMPRESS TO COMMEMORATE THE 60TH YEAR OF HER MAJESTY'S REIGN. Crowned and laureated bust of Queen Victoria to left. Signed F. BOWCHER. F. Rev.: GOD PRESERVE OUR QUEEN AND KAISAR-I-HIND, MDCCCXXXVII MDCCCXCVII INDIA. The star of India, surrounded by lotus flowers and monograms VRI; below the Royal Arms. Signed SPINK & SON LONDON.
