Object history
One of two cup with 414:780/A-1885 (Sch. I 763A).
The mark of the cross is the mark of the Bristol factory, and the initials 'IH' are thought to be those of Joseph Harford, iron merchant of Bristol and a partner of Champion in the ownership of a factory there between 1768 and 1769. The service from which these cups were part of was probably made for Joseph Hickey, a London agent for the Bristol porcelain works.
These pieces were purchased by Lady Charlotte Schreiber from Mr Edkins, Bristol, for £2 in February 1869
