This silvered bronze medal shows Minera, seated, crowning a semi-nude figure, who sits by an anvil with a hammer in his hand, with an olive wreath. Beneath the figures there is a bird's- eye view of the Paris Exhibition of 1889 and the Eiffel Tower. On the scroll is the word PAX. The legend reads EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE 1889. Signed 'Louis Bottée. The medal was struck from a die and is plain on the reverse.

Physical description

Medal of silvered bronze, struck from a die, one side only. Minera, seated, is crowned with an olive wreath a semi-nude figure, who sits by an anvil with a hammer in his hand; beneath is a bird's- eye view of the Paris Exhibition of 1889 and the Eiffel Tower. On the scroll is the word PAX. The legend reads EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE 1889. Signed 'Louis Bottée.
