Vase of white glazed hard-paste porcelain, probably intended for a pastille burner; the body is in the shape of a hemispherical bowl, with the top partially covered in by a concave fluted shoulder and flange; round the upper part of the bowl is a border of guilloche ornament in relief, interrupted by three small projecting lips of foliated form; the bowl is supported by a central baluster and by three griffins, sitting erect with outspread wings on a triangular plinth with incurved sides, which are decorated with rams' masks and festoons of foliage in relief between two echinus mouldings
