Vase of porcelain, with elongated and almost cylindrical oval body, straight neck ridged in the centre, projecting rim with wide flange, and circular base. Covered outside with a rich black glaze, possessing purple iridescence. Pencilled in gilt, on the body with four vertical panels representing the flowers of the four seasons, incurved at the corners on a ground of chrysanthemum scroll-work; the neck and shoulder with two landscapes on diapered grounds enclosed by bands of sceptre-heads (ruyi) and fret.
